| Dixon-Adflow, like many companies started small. Its origin dates back to the 1950s where it began re-boring and refurbishing car engines. As products in the car industry returned to normal after the second world war and replacement engines and components became available from other manufacturers, the company diversified into hose couplings and recognised that its machines were well equipped to producing many items to serve a rapidly growing industry. Adflow started buying some couplings from a company in the United States called Dixon Valve to enhance its product range. This partnership became so successful that Adflow was incorporated into the Dixon family and became its European manufacturing facility. In August 1995 two new companies were formed in the U.K. Dixon Adflow Engineering Services (d.a.e.) and Sanflex Hose. Dixon Adflow Engineering Services was formed to provide "in house" machining capacity for both Dixon Adflow, developing a range of stainless steel hose components for resale to Dixon's current customer base. We currently run seven c.n.c. lathes within this facility. Sanflex Hose specialises in pharmaceutical and brewery/food industries selling direct to "blue chip" companies high quality ptfe, rubber and silicon hose assemblies. In early 1996 our factory was extended to 48,000 sq.ft. and Dixon Adflow Engineering Services was moved "on site" at this time. |
